Christopher Columbus

I do not believe that we should celebrate Columbus day for he did not discover the Americas. When Columbus arrived in America, the Native Americans were already there. But, the vikings were said to have been there long before the Native Americans. Either way, it was not Columbus so why should he get all the glory for "discovering" our country when everyone knows he did not. But does this make him a villan? In my opinion, no. Though it could be argued that he was a villan because of stealing the title of "America's founder" from the people who really were. Even though we are sure he did not discover America, Columbus was in fact a great explorer.

  1. I agree with all your points haley. Columbus did not discover our country, therefore he should not be given a day named after him

  2. I don't think he really stole the title of "america's founder," it was more or less given to him. But I still see your point. & I agree.
